Frontiers Children works through established community structures with community members providing the leadership. Frontiers Children has a huge experience of using sponsorship and grant funds for supporting and leveraging on existing government structures to facilitate capacity building of communities through direct training, demonstrations and provision of start-up supplies and resources for diversified livelihood approaches. The key entry points have been Early Childhood Development centres, Schools (including child rescue centres), Farmer Organizations, Beach Management Units, Water Users Associations/WRUAs, Grazing committees, Voluntary Savings & Loaning Associations, Youth Groups, Groups of PLWDs and Groups of older persons. Through these, Frontiers Children supported establishment and still maintain a direct link with 24 community based irrigation systems and 5 modern vegetable gardens linked to ECDs in Loima, Turkana Central, Turkana North and Turkana South sub-counties for crop diversification and increased yields to ensure sustainable food security and economic growth.
